Safety is our first priority

Here’s how we’ve enhanced your Y experience to help keep everyone as safe as possible at camp this summer.

  • We’ve introduced screening protocols for all staff, parents/guardians, and campers
  • Siblings will be placed in the same camper groups
  • Camper groups will remain together with the same counsellor the entire week
  • Campers will arrive at staggered times
  • Extra cleaning and disinfecting measures will take place throughout the day

Toronto Face Mask and Coverings Bylaw

In keeping with a new City of Toronto requirement, all of our Toronto in-person camps will require campers to wear face masks or coverings when indoors. If your camper does not have a face mask, one will be provided for them. Staff will also adhere to these guidelines when indoors.

Get more information about our updated policies and procedures by downloading our safety guidelines and the Ministry of Health's guidelines for summer day camps.

*NEW* for summer 2020: Car camping and cabin rentals

Car camping
Enjoy our overnight camp site to experience Cedar Glen in a new way, relaxing together around a campfire, under the stars. Campsite rentals start at a flat rate of $130 per night per campsite. Campsites can accommodate from 6 up to 10 people (if all the same family). Included is a portable washroom and hand washing station, firewood, picnic table, shade structure, sports equipment to borrow, lifeguarded swim time, s’mores kit, daily garbage pick-up, and indoor washrooms and showers if you’re staying longer than one day.

Cabin rentals
Renting our rustic cabins — for only $300 per night — is a great way to try your hand at camping, while still having some of the comforts of your own home. Your family (maximum of 10 people) will be assigned a cabin with two rooms, and four bunk beds in each room. You’ll have your own theatre-style seating around the campfire where you’ll enjoy a night of songs and snacks. Each cabin includes a picnic table, a garbage can, a fire pit, and a portable washroom and hand washing station. You will also have access to a shower and washroom facility located a short walk away. During your time on site, you will all be able to hike our trails, enjoy the pool during your scheduled time, cook around the campfire, and more!

Family in kayaks on the lake

"We joke that we are city people, so during our family camp day, we experienced a number of family firsts: the first time we went canoeing, the first time we tried archery, our first campfire, and our first family bike ride. The YMCA had all of the resources we needed to have these experiences and do so safely. It truly felt like a curated outdoor experience tailored to our family."
