Virtual Parent Information Nights

Virtual Programs are delivered right to your home and lead by highly trained YMCA staff. Children will engage with peers, develop fundamental skills, have opportunities to learn, all in a safe virtual environment.
In these 90-minute dance workshops, kids will learn foundational moves and grooves so they can dance confidently and have fun over the March Break. Each workshop will include warm-ups and dance-specific conditioning, and teach cross-style dance moves and cool choreography.
This 45 minute program will have your little ones starting their March Break right! This fun and active program will have preschoolers moving and grooving through the use of stories, songs, dancing and fun active games.
This certification program in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross will teach youth ages 9-13 the basics of staying home, being responsible, preparing for the unexpected, and so much more, including an introduction to First Aid. The program includes a workbook and certification along with 5 hours of online programming.
This live, interactive program is led by YMCA Day Camp Staff in a secure online platform. Campers will receive a Y-Camp in a Box containing all the materials they will need for their five days of camp, a values bead kit, and of course a piece of Y-Swag! Y-Camp in a Box will be delivered to your home the Friday before the program starts.
Jr. Virtual Creative Arts & Science Program (ages 6-8): 9:00am – 10:30am
Sr. Virtual Creative Arts & Science Program (ages 9-12): 11:00am – 12:30pm

This interactive curriculum-based program is led by Ontario Certified Teachers and teacher candidates in a secure online platform. Participants will be grouped by grades 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6 to participate in engaging activities based around their Math curriculum.
Note: The Virtual Scholar Program is meant to compliment your child’s current curriculum and is not a replacement for it. This program requires a secure internet connection and access to a tablet or laptop with webcam. Participants must provide a Gmail address when registering.
Toronto Island
We are now offering the Youth Leadership 1 & 2 at Toronto Island! Find more information below:
Leadership 1 develops foundational leadership skills through team building, trust, communication and initiative-based activities that will build strong confident leaders. Participants will take advantage of the Toronto Island location and enjoy canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding as well as archery, orienteering and cruising the waterfront trails by bike. During the session youth will give back to the Toronto Island community by planning and implementing a service-learning project. Every Thursday night youth are encouraged to stay until 8pm for a cook-out dinner and campfire where they will further their outdoor skills. Note: Staff will meet youth at the ferry dock on Wards Island daily at 9:15am. (Ferry is not included or supervised by YMCA staff)
Cost $600 per session

Yes, Day Camps will be operating this summer and the first week of summer camp is July 5. For more information visit the Summer Y Guide.
Safety measures have been set by Public Health. For an in-depth look at the current safety measures please click here. In terms of Overnight Camp the government has yet to release regulations and we are closely monitoring their pending release to ensure we resume operations safely. .
Before participating in a Camps & Outdoor Education program, all participants and staff are screened with questions provided from Public Health that are designed to screen for illness.
All YMCA Camps & Outdoor Education staff are required to wear a mask. Masks are not required when eating or drinking. Staff that are facilitating the screening for staff and campers will wear a face shield and gloves.
All campers and participants will be required to wear masks and/or face coverings while at camp and in program. The use of masks is not required under two specific situations:
• For outdoor camp activities if physical distancing of 2 metres can be maintained between camp participants and cohorts are maintained.
• When campers and partcipants are eating and drinking.
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing their child(ren) with masks. If children are given disposable masks, we advise providing extra daily in case of contamination. As regulations continue to evolve, YMCA Camps & Outdoor education will follow the guidance of local public health units and provincial regulations.
At all times while campers, participants and staff are in program, physical distancing will be encouraged. All program offerings will be done in a safe manner with respect to physical distancing.
All locations will have thorough cleaning and disinfecting measures in place. There will be staff to dedicated to cleaning and disinfecting to ensure that this is being done. There will be limited shared spaces and equipment, and in the case that supplies are shared, there will be thorough cleaning between use.
Here are some things we do to ensure your campers and staff are kept safe this summer:
• All staff are highly trained including 50 plus hours
• Staff are trained in how to identify child abuse and neglect and how to report
• If your camper is absent, caregivers receive an automatic call confirming their absence
• One to eight staff to camper ratio in Kinder and 1 to 10 in all others
• Campers are encouraged to wear and reapply bug spray and sun screen throughout the day
• All camp staff have standard first aid and Child CPR
• All staff have a current vulnerable sector police check
• All staff are interviewed and have three current references
• All staff are also trained in emergency procedures specific to their site
• All staff are trained in Covid safety procedures and protocols and held accountable to them
Yes, we are providing busing to a number of Day Camp locations this summer. You can choose the bus stop and route that is best for you (if applicable) by going to the YGuide.
Unfortunately not. Full-week registration is required for Summer Break programs.
Yes, you will receive a full refund for any fees you have paid for any days that are cancelled.
Yes. In the event we are not able to operate at a location, we will communicate and work with those families affected.
Yes, you will receive a full refund for any fees you have paid for any days your child is absent due to COVID-19 symptoms.
Registration for Early Bird savings will continue until March 31, 2021.
Yes, you must first complete your registration and check out of your camp programs before registering for Extended Hours. Please note AM and PM individual options are no longer available and you will be registered for both. Spaces are limited.
Requests for cancellations or refunds must be made in writing and submitted to the YMCA Program Registration Office via email to register@ymcagta.org. Cancellation requests received at least 10 days before the start of camp will receive a refund minus an administration fee of $30 per program being cancelled. Cancellation requests received with less than 10 days’ notice will receive a refund minus an administration fee of 50% of the cost of the program being cancelled. Refunds will not be issued after the start of the program. A doctor’s note is required for cancellations due to medical reasons. Refunds are not granted for inclement weather. Refund requests received after September 3rd, of the current camp year will not be granted. Refunds take 2-3 weeks to process.
